Chance the Rapper had a major celebration for his 24th birthday this past Sunday (April 16), but he made sure others could benefit from the festivities as well. The Chicago MC held a sold out birthday bash at Studio Paris nightclub in his home city, which he opened up to fans to attend and help him ring in his 24th year. Not only did the rapper recruit Ludacris and T-Pain to perform for the party, but he also raised over $100,000 for charity throughout the evening.
According to reports, all the proceeds raised by the “No Problem” hitmaker and attendees will go towards the non-prit organization he founded called SocialWorks. The mission SocialWorks is to “to empower the youth through arts, education, and civic engagement.”
Social media is still buzzing about the three-time Grammy winner’s birthday party, which had the two Southern hip-hop icons take the stage but also saw an appearance from Sesame Street‘s Big Bird. Chance, who was pretty tipsy from drinking tequila throughout the evening, capped the night f by being presented with a lavish cake that paid homage to his favorite chicken spot in Chicago—Harold’s Chicken Shack.
This is far from the first generous action by the Coloring Book artist, as he recently announced his donation $1 million to Chicago Public Schools a couple months back. He has received tons praise for his amazing contribution from big names like the New York Knicks’ Derrick Rose and former first lady Michelle Obama.
