“Working with Manila Killa]on a song was always something I wanted to do because, first and foremost, I’m a big fan his music and I felt like we had congruent, harmony-driven styles. The way we met and collaborated was probably the most natural URL to IRL story: I shot over a couple demos, and he luckily really vibed to this one. I absolutely love what he did with it and I think the final product is unmistakably a ‘feel good’ Manila Killa & Robotaki track. It’s crazy that we’re now on the road playing a bunch North American shows together this summer!” – Robotaki
“‘I Want You’ has been a long time coming. I’ve been a fan Robotaki ever since my friend introduced me to his music back in 2012 (shoutout Kevin J!) and I’ve been hooked ever since. What I’ve always admired about him is that his style is so intricate, yet he’s able to bring all those complex elements together to create a cohesive piece art. When we decided to join forces and create a song together, I was more than excited. I think the track represents both ] our styles very well, and I hope that everyone who listens to it enjoys it as much as we did creating it.” – Manila Killa
“I Want You” is plastered with an impressive wavy synth, which is accompanied by an even more impeccable melody that is subtle, calm, and journey-filled. The atmosphere is filled with pads, stereoscopic vocal chops, and distant percussion. Kurz’s vocals are so warm and welcoming throughout “I Want You.” The tune gives f a massive summer vibe, too.
